Pizzeria moving into Bear Mountain Pizza Co. building

The wait wasn’t too long to find a replacement for the beloved pizzeria on Island Avenue.

What was once Bear Mountain Pizza Co., will become Local Harvest Eatery and Pub -a pizzeria that will use local ingredients in their food and selling local beers from area breweries.

The family-oriented pizza place is set to open around May 1, according to co-owner Harvest Rogers, who is going to run it with her father, Bruce Rogers, who was born and raised in the Grande Ronde Valley.

Bruce and Harvest have been working hard to get the place ready for their opening date. They’ve gutted the restaurant and plan to replace the floors, lighting and the tables and chairs. It’ll definitely be different than what customers of Bear Mountain are used to, she said. There are a lot of changes being made and she’s excited for the customers to come in and see it.

Local Harvest Eatery and Pub will be open seven days a week and will offer table-side service, home delivery, online ordering and car-side to go, she said.
