LA GRANDE — Police arrested a La Grande man after he fled from law enforcement during an attempted traffic stop.

Dillon Delarre, 31, of La Grande, was taken into custody on Wednesday, Jan. 31, for felony fleeing, reckless driving and three counts of recklessly endangering another person, according to Oregon public record. He also had an active state parole board warrant out for his arrest.

Shortly after 3:30 a.m. officer Aaron Clark attempted to pull over a black sedan near Mulholland Drive and 26th Street after noticing that there were no visible license plates or temporary tags on the car, according to the probable cause declaration. The driver — who was later identified at Delarre — sped up and fled from law enforcement.

Police reported that during the pursuit Delarre was driving over 70 mph in a 45 mph zone, according to the probable cause declaration. Clark wrote that Delarre ran multiple stop signs and also almost crashed the car multiple times when taking corners at high speed.

Delarre headed south on a farm road near the intersection of Buchanan Lane and Gekeler Lane, according to the report. After the sedan got stuck in the mud, Delarre exited the car with his hands up.

Law enforcement found there were three passengers in the car during the pursuit, the probable cause declaration state. All of the passengers were released at the scene, and Delarre was taken into custody.

Delarre refused to appear on camera during his arraignment on Feb. 1, according to Oregon public record. Bail has been set at $10,000 by Union County Circuit Court Judge Thomas Powers.

Delarre is represented by court-appointed counsel, La Grande attorney J. Logan Joseph. He is set to appear in court on Feb. 29 for a plea hearing.
