SUMMERVILLE — Summerville Stables is teaming up with the Oregon Charter Academy to host a fall food drive on Friday, Oct. 21, to benefit the Cove Food Pantry, a food pantry whose mission is to reduce hunger by engaging the community to create access to food.
Nonperishable food donations can be dropped off between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the Summerville Stables admission gates, located at 66967 Hunter Road, Summerville, where there will be a designated drop-off box. Those visiting the stables to enjoy the fall festivities are encouraged to participate by filling a bag with items to donate. All contributions will go to supporting families in need throughout the Union County area.
The suggested items for donation include cereal, canned foods (meats, tuna, corn, refried beans, diced tomatoes), peanut butter and jam, coffee and tea and snack bars.
Charter academy students and staff are hosting the food drive as part of their annual field trip to Summerville Stables.
