While watching the evening news recently there was extensive coverage of some serious issues that are facing the country right now. Among the topics were our military involvement in the Middle East, the southern border, and destructive weather in some parts of the country, subjects that I would think would be high priorities and generate the attention and action of all of our elected leaders.

Meanwhile, the evening news coverage went on to report the current legislation introduced by Oregon’s U.S. Sen. Ron Wyden. The senator hopes to facilitate the creation of yet another law that protects whales.
