Jacob M. Hart was charged with three counts of invasion of privacy and two counts of attempted invasion of privacy, all misdemeanors. He was arraigned Monday and released on a court agreement that he will have no contact with the alleged victims or any minors.

Sheriff Boyd Rasmussen said the alleged crimes took place at Camp Elkanah this summer. He did not elaborate.

The crimes are being investigated by the Union County Sheriff’s Office, with computer forensics assistance by FBI agent Ariel Miller.

The sheriff added there is additional evidence to be evaluated and more charges may be forthcoming. He said his office is being careful to guard the privacy of the alleged victims.

If additional victims are found, appropriate notification to families will be made promptly, he said.

"We take these crimes and the victims’ privacy concerns very seriously and will ensure the utmost privacy during the investigation," Rasmussen said.

Wayne Pickens, senior pastor at First Baptist Church, said in a written statement Monday that the church had reported to law enforcement Aug. 31 that a video had been found on Hart’s computer revealing an invasion of privacy.

Pickens’ statement said Hart confessed to the church that he placed a hidden camera in the girls shower at Camp Elkanah this summer.

Both the church and Hart are "cooperating fully with the investigation," the statement said.

Hart has resigned and is no longer serving at the church, Pickens said.

"We are all hurting, especially those who had the closest relationships with Jake," Pickens wrote. "We are especially concerned for the victims who feel so betrayed and wounded. We are trying our best to help young people and parents through the painful grieving process and different emotions involved. ?We are so sorry this happened."
