Senior Henry Treat and the Panthers are looking for better results this time as Imbler returns to Eastern Oregon University to close out the regular season.

OSAA ranking in parentheses. All games on Friday, Oct. 27. Times listed are Pacific.

Ontario at La Grande

Time: 7 p.m.

Records: Ontario (21) 5-3 overall, 1-3 4A Special District 5; La Grande (26) 2-6 overall, 1-3 4A Special District 5

Overview: The Tigers versus Tigers matchup marks the final regular season game for these district foes. Both teams started the season with high hopes but sit in the bottom half of the district standings as the year comes to a close.

A victory for either team is not only a positive in the district standings but a moral victory and a start to next year. First year head coach Dalton Sheets wants to send his seniors out on a high note.

Adrian at Union

Time: 7 p.m.

Records: Adrian (7) 5-3 overall, 3-2 1A Special District 2; Union (14) 2-5 overall, 1-4 1A Special District 2

Overview: Union hosts the Antelopes, looking to rebound from a loss on the road in Imbler last week. The Bobcats are currently sitting at the bottom of the district standings with Powder Valley and Elgin, along with Union, all with 1-4 district records. Pulling the upset at home against Adrian would end the year on a high note for the Bobcats.

Cove at Elgin

Time: 7 p.m.

Records: Cove (10) 4-4 overall, 2-3 1A Special District 2; Elgin (13) 3-4 overall, 1-4 1A Special District 2

Overview: Cove returns to the road after crushing Powder Valley on the Leopard’s home field last week, breaking a two-game loss streak. The Leopards are currently fourth in the Special District 2 standings and holding on to a top 10 state ranking. Cove needs a win and will be watching the Adrian game, hoping for an Antelope loss.

The troubles continued for Elgin last week as the Huskies lost their fourth straight game, all district contests. Elgin needs a home victory to end the season on a positive note.

Powder Valley at Crane

Time: 1 p.m.

Records: Powder Valley (15) 1-7 overall, 1-4 1A Special District 2; Crane (2) 7-0 overall, 5-0 1A Special District 2

Overview: This is a tough draw for the Badgers as Powder Valley closes out the season on the road against undefeated Crane. Powder Valley will take the field after allowing 402 points thus far this season versus a team that has scored 324 points to date. A Badger victory would be a huge upset and throw the 1A standings into a tailspin.

Sherman/Condon vs. Imbler, at Eastern Oregon University

Time: 1 p.m.

Records: Sherman/Condon (4) 2-6 overall; Imbler (19) 7-1 overall

Overview: Imbler travels to La Grande to end the season with a nonleague game versus the Huskies of Sherman/Condon, a team representing the 1A Special District 3.

Imbler remains a top-four team in the state and will be looking forward to the playoffs after this final matchup played on turf. The field at Eastern Oregon University does hold a bad memory as the lone loss of the season took place on this same field on Sept. 15 as Crane pulled a last minute score to down the Panthers, 30-26.

Sherman/Condon sits fifth in the Special District 3 rankings and makes the trip to EOU after a shutout loss to St. Paul, 53-0.
