Women’s basketball: EOU drops exhibition in overtime

HONOLULU, Hawaii – No. 17 Eastern Oregon faced Stanislaus State in its first matchup in Honolulu on Friday. The game was a closely contested battle with both teams tied at 57-all at the end of the regulation before the Mountaineers fell 69-64 in overtime..

Eastern Oregon held a 20-11 scoring advantage in the second quarter to take a narrow lead heading into halftime.

Forward Brie Holecek led the way for the Mountaineers with 13 points, going 5 of 6 from the free throw line. Haley Robinett also recorded a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds.

Stanislaus State was led by a balanced attack, seeing three different players score double-digit points and 1- score points in the contest.

Eastern Oregon returns to action Saturday to take on Montana State-Northern at 3 p.m. Hawaiian time.
