High school girls wrestling: Reno hardware returning to La Grande

RENO, Nevada — While many fans were taking in a current unbeaten La Grande softball game or the track and field team competing in Hermiston, others were in Reno, Nevada, watching six Tigers hang medals on their necks after taking part in the Reno Worlds.
The tournament features the best of female high school wrestling from 45 states meeting in Reno starting April 4 with three days of action. Over 9,000 wrestlers were present, covering all the age groups in attendance.
Leading the group from La Grande was Paige Allen and her second-place finish. Aubrey Pinther ended her time on the mat with a third-place showing.
Tigers Kierstyn Azure and Maddie Armstrong wrapped up the tournament placing fourth in their respective weight classes. La Grande also picked up two fifth-place showings from Rilley Robinson and Lyndie Isaacson.
