College men’s soccer: Eastern Oregon plays out scoreless draw to Oregon Tech

LA GRANDE — Despite a high volume of scoring opportunities, the Mountaineers came away with a tie in their most recent contest of the 2023 season.

The Eastern Oregon University men’s soccer team tied Oregon Tech 0-0 on Friday, Sept. 29. The draw moved the Mountaineers’ record to 2-4-3 on the season and 2-2-1 in Cascade Collegiate Conference play.
Both teams had chances in the first half, as Eastern Oregon held a narrow 6-5 advantage in shots. Goalkeeper Kevin Pullara recorded all three of his saves in the first half, en route to a clean sheet.
In the second half, the Mountaineers upped their offensive tempo and held a major advantage in shots in an attempt to find a breakthrough goal. Despite holding a 7-1 advantage in shots, Eastern Oregon was unable to find the back of the net, leading to a 0-0 draw.

Freshman midfielder Abner Hernandez led Eastern Oregon with four shots, while freshman forward Carlos Rodriguez tallied three shots.
Coming off the tie, the Mountaineers are slated to host Southern Oregon at 4:30 p.m. on Sept. 30.
