High school volleyball: Five Bobcats, four Badgers lead all-league volleyball selections

NORTH POWDER — The volleyball coaches representing the 1A Old Oregon League recently met, voted and released their choices for all-league volleyball, Ladd edition. Due to the size of the Old Oregon League, teams are divided into the Ladd and Meacham divisions.

After winning both the regular season standings and the recent league tournament, Powder Valley led the Ladd Division selections with four players named to the listing, including Player of the Year selection senior Jaycee Anderson. She is joined on the first team by teammate and sophomore Sky Nesser.

Powder Valley junior Marli Lind and senior Ayla Bingham received second team honors.

The Imbler landed three players to the list. Junior Rachael Stirwalt and senior Alex Patton both picked up first-team honors, while junior Jayda Cant was named to the second team.

Cove sophomore Reegan O’Rourke was the lone Leopard making the listing, earning second-team honors.

After voting by their peers, Cove’s Chantelle Burgess and Imbler’s Jenifer Teeter shared the Coach of the Year award and Imbler shared the Sportsmanship award with the Wallowa Cougars.

In the Meacham Division, five Union players found their names on the list beginning with the Player of the Year junior Paisley Miller. She was joined on the first team by teammate and fellow junior Kaelyn Shoemaker.

Second-team honors included three additional Bobcats, including senior Marielle Graffunder, junior Jesse Ledbetter and freshman Sawyer Shoemaker.

Elgin was represented on the list by senior Dakota Anderson picking up first-team honors.

Ladd Division
