Ten Depot Street offers live music three nights

The Alibis blues, rock and America band will be playing at Ten Depot Street in La Grande Thursday from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Brent Smith will perform at Ten Depot Street Tuesday from

8 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Holly Sorensen will perform at Ten Depot Street Dec. 20 from

8 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Isaak plays Brewskis

Auburn Isaak will be playing live music beginning at 7 p.m. Friday at LG Brewskis, 267 S. Main St., Union.

Also, mark your calendars for jam night at LG Brewskis, beginning at 7 p.m. Dec. 28.

Blue Plate Special coming to Lear’s

Lear’s Main Street Pub and Grill, 111 W. Main St. in Enterprise presents Blue Plate Special, a

La Grande bluegrass band, on

8 p.m. Saturday, playing traditional and contemporary selections augmented by an occasional old-time or Irish tune.

Vocals feature band members Jason Brandt, Sharon Porter, Mike Snider and Carla and David Arnold, who support each other in tight harmonies.

This five-member bluegrass band serves up traditional bluegrass music entrees with a few side dishes of Irish and old-timey tunes. All members spice up the delivery using a variety of vocal combinations. Expect high energy instrumentals, train songs, songs about murder, lost love and the occasional ballad. What’s for dessert? Dance scheduled

Tuesday the Northeast Oregon Folklore Society, also known as Traditional Live, is sponsoring Balkan and international dancing from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Art Center at the Old Library, 1006 Penn Ave., La Grande.

Dances are done in lines and circles to exotic music.

No partner is necessary. All dances are taught. Admission is free.

Book sale set

The Good Book Sale will take place from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Josephy Center for Arts and Culture on Main Street in Joseph.

Bestsellers, art books, kids books and a bit of everything to match people’s reading taste will be for sale in the fundraiser.
